You'll find a few links and bits of news I felt were relevant to my time here and may paint a broader picture of everything you've seen or heard from me for the past 2.5 months.
The first link is the MSIH homepage - a description of the program, its vision and goals, and a news page with two pictures that include me (because I obviously should be advertised floating in the Dead Sea to prospective students as a way of selling the school...;) ).
The second link is a blog the Columbia Administration started in August written by current 1st year students. I'm almost too embarrassed to include the link because I am also mentioned, and included in another overly-dramatic, unflattering picture. John Powers, the author for August, was a journalist before coming here - his writing is a wonderfully comedic portrayal of our initial reactions. Lisa Crystal, the September author, is my current roommate here in Beersheba so she includes many of the adventures we've had together so far.
The third link is a general announcement to the BGU campus about our White Coat Ceremony this Wednesday. Little known fact: The ceremony for 1st year students originated in Israel when our ethics professor, Dr. Glick, collaborated with his colleagues at Columbia to induct medical students into the physician's oath and code of ethics from the beginning of their education rather than graduation day. Wikipedia will tell you it began in 1993 at Columbia, but that's just half the story. Ironically, we do not actually receive a white coat (very disappointing).
